Introduction to Phone Numbers
Phone Numbers in AgentVoice allow your AI agents to receive and make calls from and to customers. Each phone number can be assigned to a specific agent, enabling voice communication between your customers and your Agent.
Accessing the Numbers Section
To manage your phone numbers:
1. Navigate to the left side of your screen
2. Click on the Numbers tab
Phone Numbers Interface
The Numbers interface displays all your current phone numbers and provides tools to search and manage them:
- Search Bar: Search for specific phone numbers if you have multiple numbers
- Phone Number List: View all your currently active phone numbers
- Get a Number/New Number: Buttons to acquire additional phone numbers
Getting a New Phone Number
To add a new phone number to your account:
Step 1: Initiate the Process
Click either the Get a Number button or the New Number button in the toolbar.
Step 2: Select an Area Code
1. Enter the desired area code in the search field
2. Click View Available Numbers
Step 3: Choose a Phone Number
Browse the available numbers and select the one you want to use.
Step 4: Assign to an Agent
Before completing your purchase:
- Select which agent will answer calls to this number from the dropdown menu
- Note: You must assign the number to an agent; you cannot have an unassigned phone number
Step 5: Confirm Purchase
Review the details and click Confirm Purchase to activate the number.
Note: Depending on your plan, additional phone numbers may incur extra charges. Check your current plan details for specific pricing.
Testing Your New Phone Number
Once you’ve acquired a phone number:
1. Use your mobile phone or another device to call the newly acquired number
2. Your assigned agent should answer the call
3. Interact with your agent to ensure everything is working correctly
Managing Existing Phone Numbers
You can manage your existing phone numbers in several ways:
Changing the Assigned Agent
To reassign a phone number to a different agent:
1. Locate the phone number in your list
2. Click on the current agent name or the edit icon
3. Select a different agent from the dropdown menu
4. Save your changes
Deleting a Phone Number
To remove a phone number from your account:
1. Find the phone number you want to delete
2. Click the Delete button associated with that number
3. Confirm the deletion when prompted
Note: Deleting a phone number will make it unavailable for future use with your account. If you think you might need it later, consider reassigning it instead of deleting it.
Plan Limitations
The number of phone numbers you can have depends on your AgentVoice subscription plan:
- Different plans allow for different numbers of phone numbers
- For example, the Business plan (middle tier) allows up to three phone numbers per organization
If you need additional phone numbers beyond your plan’s limit, you may need to upgrade your subscription.
