Phone Numbers
Accessing the Numbers Section
Navigate to the left side of your screen and click on the Numbers tab.
The Numbers interface displays all your current phone numbers and provides tools to search and manage them. Use the search bar to search for specific phone numbers if you have multiple numbers.
Business Verification for Regulated Countries
To obtain phone numbers in certain regulated countries including the UK, Mexico, Brazil, and others, you must complete business verification. This is a regulatory requirement mandated by telecommunications authorities in these jurisdictions.
When Verification is Required
Business verification is mandatory before purchasing phone numbers in:
- United Kingdom
- Mexico
- Brazil
- Other regulated countries as specified by local telecommunications regulations
Accessing the Verification Form
Open Settings
Click on Settings in the main sidebar menu.
Navigate to Organization Settings
Click on Organization in the main navigation menu at the top of your dashboard.
Open the Verification Tab
Select the Verification tab from the organization menu options (Details, Address, Verification, A2P/SMS, Team, Appointments, Agency).
Complete the Business Verification Form
Fill out all required fields in the Business Verification form as described below.
Required Information
Business Information
Provide your company's official registration details:
Business NameYour legal business name as registered with government authorities.
Registration TypeSelect your business registration type from the dropdown menu (e.g., Corporation, LLC, Sole Proprietorship, Partnership).
Registration NumberYour official business registration or tax identification number. This should match your government-issued business documents.
Business WebsiteYour company's official website URL. This must be a valid, publicly accessible website.
Authorized Representative
Designate a senior manager responsible for phone number management:
First NameFirst name of the authorized representative.
Last NameLast name of the authorized representative.
Contact PhonePhone number for the authorized representative. Note: This cannot be a Twilio number.
Email AddressEmail address for the authorized representative.
Required Consents and Attestations
Before submitting your verification, you must review and accept all required attestations:
Privacy and Data Protection
Your information is processed in accordance with AgentVoice's Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. Industry-standard security measures are implemented to protect your data. For questions about data handling, contact privacy@agentvoice.com.
Submitting Your Verification
Once all required fields are completed and all attestations are checked:
- Review all information for accuracy
- Click Submit for Verification
- You will receive a confirmation that your submission was received
Verification Timeline
Verification typically takes 24-72 hours. You'll receive an email notification when the verification process is complete.
During the verification period:
- Your submission is reviewed by regulatory authorities
- You may be contacted for additional documentation
- Keep your contact information current to receive status updates
Once verified, you can purchase phone numbers from regulated countries without additional requirements.
Troubleshooting Verification Issues
If your verification is delayed or rejected:
- Ensure all information matches official business documents - Registration numbers, business names, and other details must exactly match your government-issued documents
- Verify your business website is accessible - The URL must be publicly available and display your business information
- Check for complete information - All required fields must be filled out completely
- Respond promptly to additional requests - If contacted for more documentation, provide it as quickly as possible
A2P 10DLC Registration for SMS
Register your business and messaging campaigns for SMS compliance on US phone numbers.
What is A2P 10DLC? Application-to-Person (A2P) registration is required by US carriers for business SMS messaging. It helps prevent spam and improves deliverability. Registration typically takes 1-3 business days.
Accessing the A2P Registration
Open Settings
Click on Settings in the main sidebar menu.
Navigate to Organization Settings
Click on Organization in the main navigation menu at the top of your dashboard.
Open the A2P / SMS Tab
Select the A2P / SMS tab from the organization menu options (Details, Address, Verification, A2P/SMS, Team, Appointments, Agency).
Step 1: Brand Registration
Register your business to enable SMS messaging on US phone numbers. This uses your existing business verification information.
Click the Register Brand button to submit your brand registration.
Step 2: Messaging Campaigns
Register your SMS use cases.
Complete brand registration before creating campaigns.
Getting a New Phone Number
Click either the Get a Number button or the New Number button in the toolbar.
Enter the desired area code in the search field and click View Available Numbers. Browse the available numbers and select the one you want to use.
Before completing your purchase, select which agent will answer calls to this number from the dropdown menu. You must assign the number to an agent; you cannot have an unassigned phone number.
Review the details and click Confirm Purchase to activate the number.
Note: Depending on your plan, additional phone numbers may incur extra charges.
Testing Your New Phone Number
Once you've acquired a phone number, use your mobile phone or another device to call the newly acquired number. Your assigned agent should answer the call. Interact with your agent to ensure everything is working correctly.
Managing Existing Phone Numbers
Changing the Assigned Agent: Locate the phone number in your list, click on the current agent name or the edit icon, select a different agent from the dropdown menu, and save your changes.
Deleting a Phone Number: Find the phone number you want to delete, click the Delete button associated with that number, and confirm the deletion when prompted.
Note: Deleting a phone number will make it unavailable for future use with your account. If you think you might need it later, consider reassigning it instead of deleting it.
Plan Limitations
The number of phone numbers you can have depends on your AgentVoice subscription plan. Different plans allow for different numbers of phone numbers. For example, the Business plan allows up to three phone numbers per organization.
If you need additional phone numbers beyond your plan's limit, you may need to upgrade your subscription.
