Voice has always been the dominant interface for business communication. Tens of billions of phone calls happen every day, and across healthcare, home services, insurance, logistics, and a dozen other industries, the phone is still how complex problems get resolved and high-value decisions get made. What changed is that voice is now programmable with two mjor technical shifts.
- Conversational latency fell below the threshold where speech feels natural
- Real-time audio processing has become affordable
Those two things combined make voice AI to viable replacement for large slices of phone workflows. The capital in this map reflects that transition. Over $4.5 billion was raised by the 68 companies here between October 2024 and March 2026, and the distribution of that capital tells a clear story about where the category stands. Infrastructure is largely funded, the application layer is now where the action is.
This map covers 68 companies across 8 categories, sourced from October 2024 through March 2026.

A few patterns stand out when you look at where the money went. Healthcare absorbed more capital than any other vertical, which makes sense given the volume of high-stakes phone calls in clinical settings and the regulatory pressure that rewards purpose-built solutions over general tools. Restaurant and QSR attracted a surprising cluster of dedicated players, all racing to own the drive-thru. And at the infrastructure layer, several companies raised enormous rounds to build voice models, real-time audio pipelines, and developer tooling that applications layer companies build on top of.
The middle of the market is also maturing fast. Seed rounds are getting larger and moving faster to Series A. There are a handful of companies that went from pre-seed to Series B in under a year. Investors who passed on the category in 2023 are catching up now.
